Hermes Agent

Hermes Agent is an open-source autonomous agent developed by Nous Research and released under the MIT License. Unlike cloud-locked copilots or thin chatbot wrappers, it runs entirely on your own server, giving you full ownership of data, infrastructure, and customization. This self-hosted approach makes it especially appealing for developers, researchers, and teams that need privacy, control, and the freedom to integrate deeply with existing systems. The agent grows smarter the longer it operates. Security is taken seriously through real sandboxing with local, Docker, SSH, Singularity, and Modal backends, complete with hardening and namespace isolation. A full web and browser control suite enables web searches, browser automation, image generation, and text-to-speech directly from the agent.
